Trampoline Games: Where’s My Bone?

Start off the summer fun with this trampoline game that’s fun for the whole family. Whether you are participating or just watching, it’s sure to bring on giggles and smiles.

Where’s My Bone?
This game is for three or more players. The object of the game is for the “doggie” to find the “bone” while the object for the other players is to hide the bone. One player is chosen to be the doggie. The remaining players sit in a large circle in the middle of the trampoline. One of the players is given a small object, the bone, to hide.

Once the bone is hidden, under a player’s leg, in the crook of an elbow, etc, the signal is given for the doggie to start looking for the bone. Once the bone is found, play continues with a different doggie.

Doggie rules:

The doggie must not touch another player.
The doggie is allowed to bounce once beside a player suspected of having the bone.
If the “bone” is dislodged from its hiding place during a bounce, the doggie gets the bone and the person who was hiding it swap places.

Hiding rules:

Players may not hide the “bone” inside clothing or pockets.
Players may not give hints where the “bone” is hidden unless the doggie gives up.
Players my fake out the doggie by posing in such a way that they appear to be hiding the bone.

This is a fun way for children to practice their observation skills!

Trampoline Games: Bounce Summer Boredom Away

It’s time to break out, clean up, and/or repair your trampoline for some summerfun! You will need to clean your trampoline well, inspect it for warn or rusty parts, and put safety measures into place before it is used this season. Don’t wait until your kids are moaning that they are bored! Get ready to let the kids bounce their summer boredom away. If you don’t own a trampolineyou really might want consider purchasing one this year. They are pretty low-maintenance and well worth the money, when you consider that it’s an “exercise machine” that the whole family can use.

Trampolines are one of the most popular forms of summer exercise for adults and children. Many adults have a personal-sized trampoline, which can be transported to the backyard or porch for an outdoor workout. Children tend to have a larger stationary version in the backyard. These family or backyard trampolines accommodate several people at once and are great for “group exercise” disguised as play.

Some children find it hard to just bounce on a trampoline to music, like many adults do. For this reason, it’s important to show children how to play a few trampoline games such as Trampoline Dodge Ball, Where’s My Bone, Ants In My Bed, Late For School, and Horse. If your child hasn’t been on a trampoline very much, you might want to consider giving him/her a few days to get used to it before you begin teaching games. When introducing new games, you might like to wait a few days between each game so that the child doesn’t get overwhelmed.

Once several games have been introduced, you may want to let your children play in tournaments against each other. Simply keep a tally sheet of how many games each person won during that day or week. At the end of the day or week, reward the trampoline champion, “Tramp Champ,” with some sort of trophy. Depending on your children, you may want to have an award for a single day’s events and a different one for the weekly prize.
