Making a trick-or-treat bucket is great fun for the kids. Let the kids make one for use at home and then give them the option to make their own to use when they go trick-or-treating. Below is an example of how you can make one for home use.
Supplies:
- Ice cream bucket with handle and lid
- Construction paper ( may need extra fall colors)
- Markers, crayons, glue, glitter, stickers (any craft supplies)
- Contact paper (optional)
Directions:
Soak buckets and scrub off any print on side or lid. Use construction paper to draw ghosts, pumpkins, scarecrows, etc. Cut out your decorations and glue them to the outside of an ice cream bucket. For older children, you may even want to let them experiment with using real leaves or bits of straw in their designs.
If print won’t come off of the ice cream pail, you may want to cover the container with your choice of contact paper.
