Kids Favorite Halloween Movies

Ok, I’m old, well according to my kids. There are times when this comes in handy, like at Halloween. Apparently, I am a great resource for “really cool Halloween movies”. It’s not that I’ve seen every movie made but usually know which Halloween movies appeal to the kids. I just chalk it up to all those years as a public school teacher and a mom. I bet you do a good job of identifying shows that will become your kids’ favorite Halloween movies too.
As I sit here writing, I’m sort of half-watching The Goonies and thinking about all the kids’ favorite Halloween movies that are playing on TV now. Below is a short list of the kids favorite Halloween movies, with a link, in case you aren’t familiar with them.
- Hocus Pocus
- Gremlins
- Disney’s Halloweentown movies
- Ghostbusters
- Caspar
- Bedknobs And Broomsticks
- Harry Potter (Years 1-5) and
- Mary Poppins
Ok, this last one is stretching it a tad but a movie doesn’t have to focus on ghosts, witches, monsters, etc. in order to give kids that “mystical” feeling or challenge their imagination. There are just so many good Halloween movies for kids I can’t remember them off the top of my head. What movies make the top of your kids’ favorite Halloween movie list?
